Just two hours drive from either Edinburgh or Glasgow, Fortingall is a great place to escape to...
From A9: Take the Ballinluig exit 5 miles south of Pitlochry and head West for 10 miles to Aberfeldy. At the traffic lights in Aberfeldy turn right onto the B846 towards Tummel Bridge and follow the road for 5 miles until you reach a white house on the left called Coshieville House, take the road on the left signposted Fortingall/Fearnan and travel for 3 miles. As you enter the village, the road narrows and you will pass one house and then the church. Just beyond the church is the sign for the Yew Tree, a parking area and the hotel. To the right of the hotel are Fortingall Steadings; go into the courtyard and The Byre is at the back on the right hand side. Your parking space faces you at the far end.
From the West: Take the road north from Glasgow, through Callander, Lochearnhead to Killin. Drive through Killin taking the road running along the North shore of Loch Tay for 14 miles until you reach Fearnan. Here, turn left, signposted Fortingall. After two miles you will reach the village. Travel through the village until you reach the hotel with the church and Yew Tree opposite you. Turn into the parking area and Fortingall Steadings is set back to the right of the hotel. Your car parking space is in front of the building, and The Byre is on the right.
